Manchester City has announced a tribute to Ricky Hatton, the British boxing legend and lifelong City supporter, ahead of their derby match against Manchester United. Hatton, 46, was found dead at his home on Sunday morning. Greater Manchester Police have confirmed that his death is not being treated as suspicious.

The club confirmed that there will be a minute's applause before kick-off at the Etihad Stadium to honor Hatton. Both sets of players will also wear black armbands as a sign of respect.

Manchester City expressed their devastation at the news, calling Hatton "one of City's most loved and revered supporters". The club also extended their heartfelt condolences to his family and friends.

Hatton was a devoted Manchester City fan who often attended matches at the Etihad Stadium. He famously used "Blue Moon" as his walkout music and even fulfilled a dream by fighting Juan Lazcano at the stadium in 2008. For that fight, Hatton wore sky blue shorts.

Tributes have poured in from across the sporting world, with many recognizing Hatton's achievements in boxing and his passion for Manchester City. Former two-time unified heavyweight champion Tyson Fury penned a heartfelt message. Football pundits Micah Richards and Roy Keane also paid tribute to Hatton. Manchester United also conveyed their condolences to Hatton's family, calling him "a legend of our city".

Hatton's passing comes months after he announced his return to boxing with a fight planned in December. He won world titles at welterweight and light-welterweight during his career.
