Apollo Tyres has secured the rights to be the Indian cricket team's jersey sponsor until March 2028, after winning a three-way race with a bid of ₹579 crore. The deal encompasses a total of 142 matches, comprising 121 bilateral games and 21 ICC events. This marks the first time Apollo Tyres has ventured into cricket sponsorship in India.

The tyre manufacturer, headquartered in Gurgaon and with a global presence in over 100 countries, outbid Canva (₹544 crore) and JK Cements (₹477 crore) to secure the sponsorship. The agreement stipulates that Apollo Tyres' logo will be prominently displayed on the jerseys of both the Indian men's and women's teams across all formats of the game.

This sponsorship agreement follows the premature conclusion of the Board of Control for Cricket in India's (BCCI) partnership with Dream11. The termination of the Dream11 deal was triggered by a government order that banned real-money gaming companies.

The absence of a jersey sponsor was noticeable during the recent Asia Cup, where the Indian team participated without one. However, with this new agreement, the Apollo Tyres logo is set to make its debut on the jerseys during the upcoming two-Test home series against the West Indies, commencing on October 2, 2025. Before that, the logo will be visible during the three-match series between India A and Australia.

The BCCI had set a base price of ₹3.5 crore for bilateral games and ₹1.5 crore for World Cup matches. Apollo Tyres will be paying approximately ₹4.5 crore per match, which is more than Dream11's previous contribution of ₹4 crore per match. The agreement is a substantial increase in sponsorship value, highlighting the growing commercial appeal of Indian cricket.

BCCI Secretary Devajit Saikia said that the partnership was more than a commercial agreement and that it was a partnership between two institutions that have earned the trust and respect of millions.
