The World Athletics Championships 2025 will be held in Tokyo, Japan, from September 13 to 21. This marks the 20th edition of the championships and the second time Tokyo has hosted the event, the first being in 1991. The venue for the event is the National Stadium, which was rebuilt for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

For Indian viewers eager to watch Neeraj Chopra, the defending world champion, in action, live streaming will be available on JioHotstar. The live telecast will be on Star Sports Select 1, Star Sports Select 1 HD, Star Sports Select 2, and Star Sports Select 2 HD TV channels in India. Star Sports 1 and Star Sports 2 will also telecast the event.

Neeraj Chopra's schedule is as follows: * Men's javelin throw qualification (Group A): September 17, 3:40 PM Indian Standard Time (IST) * Men's javelin throw final (subject to qualification): September 18, 3:53 PM Indian Standard Time (IST)

The men's javelin throw qualification will be split into two groups. Group A, which includes Neeraj Chopra, Sachin Yadav, and Yashvir Singh, will begin at 3:40 PM IST, while Group B, which includes Rohit Yadav, will commence at 5:15 PM IST. The final is scheduled for September 18 at 3:53 PM IST.

Alongside Neeraj Chopra, Annu Rani will be representing India in the women's javelin throw competition. The women's javelin throw qualifiers are scheduled to start on Friday, with the final on Saturday.

A total of 19 Indian athletes, comprising 14 men and 5 women, will be participating in the World Athletics Championships 2025 across 15 events. This includes Sachin Yadav, Rohit Yadav and Yashvir Singh, who will be participating in the men's javelin throw along with Neeraj Chopra. Other athletes include Animesh Kujur (200m sprint), Murali Sreeshankar (long jump), Praveen Chithravel and Abdulla Aboobacker (triple jump), and Sarvesh Kushare (high jump).

Neeraj Chopra will face tough competition from the likes of Arshad Nadeem and Julian Weber. At the last World Championships in Budapest, Neeraj Chopra won gold with a throw of 88.17m, while Arshad Nadeem took silver with 87.82m.

For those looking to watch the events for free, some countries offer free-to-air coverage. In the UK, the BBC and iPlayer will provide English language commentary. In Ireland, RTÉ will offer free coverage, while CBC in Canada and SBS and Channel 9 in Australia will also broadcast the games for free.
