Gujarat Titans' spin sensation, Sai Kishore, has voiced his unwavering confidence in his abilities, asserting that he is among the best spinners in India. Following the Indian Premier League (IPL), he reflected on his preparations for potentially joining the Indian national team.
Kishore stated that he is diligently working on all aspects of his game, including batting, fielding, and bowling, to become a well-rounded, multi-skilled player. He believes he is ready to seize any opportunities that come his way and make a significant impact at the international level.
Sai Kishore's journey in the IPL has been noteworthy. He debuted in 2022 for the Gujarat Titans and has since played 25 matches, securing 32 wickets at an average of 20.34 runs. In the IPL 2025 season, Gujarat Titans assistant coach Parthiv Patel lauded Sai Kishore as the best spinner in the tournament, highlighting his brave bowling and impactful performances. Kishore played a crucial role in Gujarat Titans' victory over Rajasthan Royals, taking a couple of wickets. By April 9, 2025, he had already taken 10 wickets in the IPL season.
Before his IPL debut, Sai Kishore was selected as one of the net bowlers for Team India during the final two T20 international matches against Sri Lanka in 2021. He was later named in India's men's cricket team for the Hangzhou Asian Games in 2023, where he took 4 wickets in 3 games with an economy rate of 5.25.
Sai Kishore's domestic cricket record speaks volumes of his talent. In a Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy season, he took 20 wickets in 12 games with an impressive economy rate of 4.63. During the Ranji Trophy campaign in 2024, he scalped 53 wickets in 9 games at an average of 18.49. His efforts earned him praise from his idol, Ravichandran Ashwin, who hailed Sai Kishore's six-wicket haul against Mumbai in the semi-final.
Sai Kishore had to bide his time to become a regular in the IPL. During his initial stint with Chennai Super Kings, he spent two seasons on the bench behind Ravindra Jadeja. Although he joined the Gujarat Titans in 2022, he initially played a supporting role due to the presence of Rashid Khan and Noor Ahmad. However, in the recent seasons, he has become a regular feature in the team. By April 4, 2025, Sai Kishore was leading the wickets chart for GT with six scalps in three matches.
