Manchester United secured a 2-1 victory against Chelsea in a Premier League match at Old Trafford that was filled with drama, including two red cards and a flurry of substitutions. The win moves Manchester United up to ninth in the Premier League, while Chelsea drops to sixth.

The game exploded into life early when Chelsea goalkeeper Robert Sanchez was sent off in the fifth minute for a foul on Bryan Mbeumo. Manchester United capitalized on their numerical advantage in the 14th minute when Bruno Fernandes scored after Patrick Chinazaekpere Dorgu's knockdown. Fernandes' goal marked his 100th for Manchester United on his 200th Premier League appearance.

Chelsea's response to going a man down was to make three substitutions within the first 21 minutes, with Cole Palmer also forced off with an injury. This unusual situation resulted in Chelsea making Premier League history by executing the earliest three substitutions ever recorded in a match. Andrey Santos replaced Palmer in the 21st minute.

Casemiro extended Manchester United's lead in the 37th minute with a close-range header. However, the Brazilian midfielder was then sent off in the first-half stoppage time for a second yellow card, reducing Manchester United to 10 men as well.

The second half saw Chelsea pushing for a comeback, and they found a goal through Trevor Chalobah's header. Despite Chelsea's pressure, Manchester United managed to hold on to their lead and secure the 2-1 victory.

The match set a bizarre Premier League record, becoming the first game in the league's history to feature at least two goals, two red cards, and two substitutions in the first half. This victory also extended Chelsea's winless streak at Old Trafford to 13 games, marking their longest run without a win on the road against any top-flight team.
