The 2025 Ballon d'Or ceremony, the 69th edition, took place on September 22, 2025, at the Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris. The ceremony began at 9:00 PM Central European Time (CEST). This year marked the fourth time the award was based on the season's results, rather than the calendar year, considering performances between August 1, 2024, and July 13, 2025, for men, and August 2, 2025, for women.
Men's Ballon d'Or: Lamine Yamal won the 2025 Ballon d'Or. At 18 years old, the Barcelona player became the youngest winner in the award's history, surpassing the previous record held by Ronaldo Nazário. Yamal had an outstanding season, scoring 21 goals and providing 22 assists, and winning LaLiga, Copa del Rey, and the Spanish Super Cup. Ousmane Dembélé was also a strong contender.
