India cruised to a 3-0 victory against Nepal in the SAFF U-17 Championship semi-final, securing their place in the final against Bangladesh. The match, held at the Racecourse International Stadium in Colombo on September 25, 2025, saw India dominate after a goalless first half.

The first half saw India creating numerous chances but struggling to convert them into goals. Nepal's defense held firm, preventing India from taking the lead. However, the Indian team maintained composure and continued to press forward.

The deadlock was broken in the 60th minute by Wangkheirakpam Gunleiba, giving India a 1-0 lead. Azlaan Shah Kh doubled the advantage in the 80th minute, and Diamond Singh Thokchom sealed the victory with a third goal in added time. These goals ensured a comfortable win for the defending champions.

India's head coach, Bibiano Fernandes, saw his team extend their perfect record in the tournament. India topped Group B with nine points from three matches, including a 6-0 victory over Maldives, a 1-0 win against Bhutan and a 3-2 triumph over Pakistan. Nepal, in contrast, finished second in Group A after defeating Sri Lanka 2-0 but losing to Bangladesh 4-0.

Bangladesh secured their spot in the final by defeating Pakistan 2-0 in the first semi-final. Goals from Nazmul Huda Faisal and Apu Rahman in the first four minutes gave Bangladesh a comfortable lead, which they maintained throughout the match.

The final between India and Bangladesh is scheduled for September 27, 2025. India will be aiming to defend their title, while Bangladesh will be looking to win their first-ever title in this age category. India won the previous edition by defeating Bangladesh 2-0 in the final on September 30, 2024.
