Prabhsimran, Iyer, and Parag Star as India A Clinch Series Victory Against Australia A

India A secured a 2-1 series victory over Australia A in a thrilling three-match One Day International series, with Prabhsimran Singh, Shreyas Iyer, and Riyan Parag playing pivotal roles in the final match. The series concluded on Sunday, October 5, 2025, at the Green Park Stadium in Kanpur.

In the decisive third ODI, India A chased down a target of 317, achieving the win with two wickets to spare and four overs remaining. The victory was hard-earned, marked by a late-order collapse that tested the team's resolve. Vipraj Nigam (24 not out) and Arshdeep Singh (7 not out) demonstrated composure under pressure to guide the hosts to the win.

Prabhsimran Singh set an aggressive tone upfront, scoring a rapid 102 off 68 balls, including 8 fours and 7 sixes. He formed an 83-run opening partnership with Abhishek Sharma (22), providing India A with a strong start. However, Todd Murphy dismissed Sharma and then Tilak Varma (3), but Prabhsimran continued his dominance, reaching his century in just 66 balls. Following Prabhsimran's dismissal, captain Shreyas Iyer contributed a composed 62 off 58 balls, including seven fours and one six, forming a 96-run partnership. Riyan Parag kept the momentum going with a brisk 58 off 53 balls, marked by audacious strokeplay. Iyer's performance followed his ascension to the role of vice-captain alongside Shubman Gill for the senior team's ODIs against Australia.

However, a collapse ensued after the departure of Iyer and Parag, as India A lost five wickets in quick succession, slipping from 262 for three to 301 for eight. Tanveer Sangha (4/72) and Todd Murphy (4/42) sparked the collapse, with Murphy nearly achieving a hat-trick in the 42nd over. Arshdeep Singh defended the hat-trick ball and kept India A afloat.

Earlier in the match, Australia A posted 316 in 49.1 overs, recovering from an initial setback where they were 44-4. Arshdeep Singh (3/38) and Harshit Rana (3/61) led the Indian bowling attack. Liam Scott (73 off 64) and captain Jack Edwards (89 off 75) formed a 152-run partnership to revive the innings for Australia A.

Riyan Parag's performance throughout the series was notable, as he emerged as the top run-scorer with an average of 62.33. He scored three fifties in the series. In the first match, Shreyas Iyer led India A to a score of 413/6, supported by Priyansh Arya's century and contributions from Riyan Parag and Ayush Badoni.

Australia A won the second match, leveling the series. Mackenzie Harvey's unbeaten 70 helped Australia A chase down a revised target after India A were bowled out for 246. Tilak Varma (94) and Riyan Parag (58) were the main contributors for India A in that match.

The series served as an opportunity for players to showcase their talent ahead of India's upcoming white-ball tour. Prabhsimran Singh's century in the final ODI was particularly significant, solidifying his credentials after a strong showing in the Indian Premier League.
