Everton and Jordan Pickford have reportedly reached an agreement on a new long-term contract, with the official signing expected this week. The 31-year-old goalkeeper's commitment to the club is seen as a major boost for Everton and manager David Moyes.
Pickford, who joined Everton from Sunderland in 2017, has become a pivotal figure for the Toffees. Sources close to Pickford indicate that he was always keen to extend his stay at Everton. His current contract was set to run until 2027.
The England international recently made his 300th Premier League appearance for Everton in their 2-1 victory over Crystal Palace. Pickford has also earned the Everton Player of the Season award four times: 2017-18, 2021-22, 2022-23, and 2023-24.
Since arriving at Goodison Park, Pickford has been the undisputed first-choice goalkeeper for England. During the current international break, he surpassed Gordon Banks' record to become the first goalkeeper to keep eight consecutive clean sheets for the national team. He is expected to earn his 80th cap for England in the upcoming match against Latvia.
The extension of Pickford's contract follows new deals for James Tarkowski and Jarrad Branthwaite. Everton are also planning to offer new contracts to James Garner and Vitalii Mykolenko.
