Jets Secure Victory Against Flames with a Strong Third Period Performance and Two Decisive Goals.

The Winnipeg Jets rallied in the third period to defeat the Calgary Flames 2-1 on Monday night, extending their winning streak to five games. Mark Scheifele's hot streak continued as he scored the game-winning goal at 15:06 of the final frame, marking his fifth consecutive game with a goal. Jonathan Toews also scored for Winnipeg, tying the game early in the third period.

The Flames, struggling to find their footing this season, have now lost six straight games. Rasmus Andersson scored the lone goal for Calgary.

Dustin Wolf made 26 saves for the Flames, while Connor Hellebuyck stopped 32 shots for the Jets, earning him the game's first star.

The game remained scoreless through the first half, with both teams stifling high-danger opportunities on the power play. Calgary broke the deadlock at 13:22 of the second period when Andersson's shot from the blue line found its way past Hellebuyck, with Ryan Lomberg providing a screen in front.

Winnipeg entered the game with the league's third-best power play. Although they failed to convert on their first four power-play opportunities, they generated numerous chances, peppering Wolf with 15 shots. Toews finally capitalized on the Jets' fifth power play, deflecting Neal Pionk's point shot into the net at 2:41 of the third period. This was Toews' first goal since April 13, 2023, after he had been sidelined for the past two seasons due to health concerns.

The Jets then took the lead late in the third period. After Hellebuyck made a save, the Jets transitioned quickly up the ice. Kyle Connor set up Scheifele, who redirected the puck past Wolf for his seventh goal of the season.

Calgary pushed to tie the game, even hitting the post shortly after Scheifele's goal. They also had a power play in the final seconds, but Hellebuyck stood tall, preserving the Jets' 2-1 victory.

With this win, Winnipeg has now earned points in every game this season. The Jets will return home to host the Seattle Kraken on Thursday. The Flames will host the Montreal Canadiens on Wednesday.
