Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) are reportedly set to appoint Abhishek Nayar as their head coach ahead of the 2026 Indian Premier League (IPL) season. According to reports, Nayar, a former Indian all-rounder and coach, was informed of the decision recently, with a formal announcement expected soon. He will be replacing Chandrakant Pandit, whose tenure concluded after KKR failed to qualify for the playoffs in IPL 2025, managing only five wins in 14 league games.
Nayar has been associated with the KKR franchise in various roles, including as an assistant coach and talent scout.
