Jamie Carragher argues Mohamed Salah deserves a proper Liverpool farewell; urges him to stay.

Jamie Carragher has urged Mohamed Salah to remain at Liverpool for the remainder of the season, setting aside any differences with manager Arne Slot to ensure a fitting Anfield send-off. The Liverpool legend doesn't anticipate Salah staying beyond this season but believes the Egyptian star owes it to himself and the fans to finish his Liverpool career on a high note.

Carragher's plea comes amidst speculation about Salah's future, particularly with the January transfer window approaching and the possibility of a move to Saudi Arabia. Salah was recently dropped from the squad for the midweek win against Inter Milan following his critical comments about manager Arne Slot. However, he returned to the team for the subsequent victory over Brighton, even applauding the Anfield faithful after the game.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Carragher emphasized the importance of Salah considering his Liverpool legacy. "I don't see Mo Salah playing for Liverpool next season," Carragher stated. "The big thing in my mind is, are we going to see Mo Salah from now until the end of the season?". He cautioned Salah against an immediate move, suggesting that the allure of potential silverware with Liverpool should outweigh the financial incentives of playing in Saudi Arabia.

Carragher painted a picture of what Salah could potentially miss if he departs mid-season. "If he's thinking of moving on, I would urge him to think again. And the reason I say that is, if Mo Salah is to move from Liverpool now, the talk is he would go to the Saudi League," Carragher explained. "Liverpool in the second half of the season could get to the FA Cup final, the Champions League final. Can you imagine Mo Salah in Saudi watching Liverpool come out in Budapest in the Champions League final?".

Carragher believes Salah has earned the right to a proper farewell, one befitting his contributions to the club. "He (Salah) deserves a guard of honour, he deserves a mosaic in the Kop," Carragher asserted. "He deserves to bring his wife and kids on the pitch in his last game and actually celebrate him for what he's done as a Liverpool player". Carragher’s sentiment echoes the gratitude Salah should receive for his dedicated service for Liverpool.

The former Liverpool defender urged Salah to reconcile with Slot for the next few months to ensure a memorable send-off. "So put your differences with the manager aside for four months and…get this great big send-off," Carragher pleaded.

Notably, this isn't the first time Carragher and Salah have been in the news recently. Carragher even apologized to Salah on CBS Sports after calling Salah a "disgrace" for criticizing Liverpool and Arne Slot following the 3-3 draw against Leeds. Carragher said, "Mo, I apologize, I've upset you. I love you as the Liverpool player, but you just need to behave yourself off the pitch".

As Salah departs to represent Egypt at the Africa Cup of Nations, uncertainty looms over his future. Whether he heeds Carragher's advice remains to be seen, but the sentiment is clear: a player of Salah's caliber deserves a proper goodbye from Anfield.
