Kieffer Moore's Hat-Trick Humbles Coventry, Wrexham Snaps Sky Blues' Unbeaten Streak in Thrilling Match

Wrexham, Wales - In a thrilling Halloween night match, Kieffer Moore's spectacular second-half hat-trick propelled Wrexham to a 3-2 victory over Coventry City, ending the Sky Blues' unbeaten run in the EFL Championship. The match, played at The Racecourse, saw Wrexham come from behind to secure a memorable win against the league leaders.

Coventry, managed by Frank Lampard, entered the game as the only unbeaten team in the EFL and were aiming for a club-record seventh consecutive league win. However, Wrexham had other plans, seeking to bounce back from their recent Carabao Cup defeat against Cardiff.

The first half saw Coventry take the lead in the 22nd minute when Tatsuhiro Sakamoto delivered a precise cross to Ephron Mason-Clark, who slotted the ball past Wrexham goalkeeper Arthur Okonkwo. Mason-Clark continued to be a threat, creating another opportunity for Brandon Thomas-Asante early in the second half, but his shot went wide.

Wrexham's persistence paid off in the 60th minute when Issa Kaboré fed Josh Windass on the right, and Moore stretched to meet Windass's cross, scoring from close range. Nine minutes later, Windass again provided an assist, this time finding Moore with a cross to the far post, which the Welsh striker headed home to give Wrexham the lead.

Moore completed his hat-trick in the 83rd minute, securing his first hat-trick in over seven years. Windass delivered another assist, setting up Moore for a composed finish. This brought Moore's season tally to nine goals. Each of Moore's goals were assisted by Josh Windass. Notably, Moore's hat-trick was a "perfect" one, with a goal scored with his right foot, a header, and a goal with his left foot.

Coventry responded in the 88th minute when Tatsuhiro Sakamoto scored from 20 yards out, but Wrexham held on to secure the victory. The win moved Wrexham up to 11th in the league table.

The match was a significant achievement for Wrexham, demonstrating their resilience and attacking prowess. For Coventry, it was a disappointing end to their unbeaten streak, despite a strong first-half performance. Kieffer Moore's man-of-the-match performance and his clinical finishing proved to be the difference between the two sides.
