The FA Cup second round draw has been completed, setting the stage for exciting matchups in early December. The draw, which took place on Monday, November 3rd, 2025, involved the 40 winners from the first round, consisting of teams from League One, League Two, and non-league clubs. Premier League and Championship teams will enter the competition in the third round.
The draw was broadcast live on TNT Sports 1, discovery+, and the TNT Sports YouTube channel, preceding the final first-round match between Tamworth and Leyton Orient. Becky Ives presented the draw, with Joleon Lescott and Steve Sidwell drawing the teams.
Several non-league teams are still in the competition, increasing the possibility of major upsets. Among them are Slough Town, Macclesfield, Chelmsford City and Weston-super-Mare. These teams will be looking to cause upsets against higher-league opponents and secure a coveted spot in the third round.
A notable result from the prior round saw Carlisle United, managed by Mark Hughes, stage a stunning comeback against Reading. Trailing 2-0 in the final minutes, Carlisle forced extra time and ultimately secured their progression, and they will now face Blackpool in the second round. Gateshead, from the National League, eliminated League One's AFC Wimbledon and will now play Walsall. Boreham Wood, another non-league team, defeated Crawley Town and will face Newport County.
Every team that has reached the second round is guaranteed at least £21,200, with the winners receiving as much as £79,500 and a place in the third round. First-round winners received £47,750, while first-round losers received £15,800.
The second-round matches are scheduled to take place around the weekend of Saturday, December 6th.
