Erling Haaland declares peak form, stating he's never felt this good throughout his career this season.

Erling Haaland is enjoying a sensational start to the 2025-2026 season, reaching new heights in his career and asserting that he's never felt better. The Manchester City striker's prolific form has been instrumental for both club and country, as evidenced by his impressive goal tally.

Haaland's claim comes after scoring the only goal in Manchester City's recent 1-0 victory against Brentford. This goal marked his ninth in seven Premier League games. Across all competitions, the 25-year-old has scored 27 goals in 17 appearances for club and country. For Norway and Manchester City, he has totaled 18 goals in 11 games, failing to score in only one match, and achieving a scoring streak of nine successive games for the first time.

"It's been a good start and I feel really good. I feel this is the best version of myself. I've never felt better than now," Haaland stated. He emphasizes the importance of preparation, both physical and mental, in maintaining his peak performance. "It is about preparation, getting ready for the games. You can be physically ready but you need to be mentally ready". To stay sharp, Haaland focuses on keeping his mind in the right place, recovering well, receiving treatment, and maintaining a balanced lifestyle.

Interestingly, Haaland also attributes his improved form to becoming a father a year ago. He believes that having a child allows him to disconnect from football, leading to greater relaxation and mental well-being when he's at home. "With a kid it makes me even better because I disconnect more than ever – I don't think about football at all," he explained.

Haaland's comments came after a tough match against Brentford, where his ninth-minute goal made the difference. Despite City's dominance in the first half, they struggled to extend their lead, and Brentford threatened with high balls and long throws towards the end.

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola acknowledged Haaland's importance to the team this season. However, he also stressed the need for other players to contribute with goals. Guardiola highlighted the need for wingers to score more and create more opportunities.

Haaland is approaching a significant milestone, nearing his 100th Premier League goal. Looking ahead, Haaland is preparing to face Liverpool, stating, "We need to be ready because it's not going to be an easy game". He also acknowledged Pep Guardiola's contribution to his development since joining City, highlighting his help with movements and scoring opportunities. "Since I came to City he's been helping me with movements and trying to get into situations where I can score goals. It's Pep Guardiola – he's a genius. So far, it's been a good journey!".
