"I've always said, now you for me, and I'm not just blowing your trumpet, you're the best manager in my era," Warnock stated. He acknowledged the common argument that Guardiola's success is solely due to the resources he's had at his disposal, but he dismissed that notion. "Everybody thinks, 'Oh, he's done well at Barcelona, he's done well at Bayern Munich, he's done well because he's had all the money.' It isn't as simple as that".
Warnock further elaborated on his admiration for Guardiola's tactical acumen and his ability to improve players. "I look at what you've done with certain players and how you've put them together," he said. Guardiola's 1000th game was against Liverpool on Sunday. Throughout his managerial career, Guardiola has won 40 major trophies. He is also one of two managers in history to win the continental treble twice.

"People call me a dinosaur, but I was at Man City recently and Pep came over to me and we had a good chat – I went into his office afterwards and he was picking my brains! Good managers never know it all. You've always got something to learn," Warnock said.
