Philadelphia, PA - Jack Roslovic scored in overtime for the second straight game, propelling the Edmonton Oilers to a 2-1 road victory over the Philadelphia Flyers on Wednesday night. Just over a minute into the extra period, Philadelphia's Cam York mishandled the puck near center ice, creating a 2-on-0 breakaway for Matt Savoie and Roslovic. Savoie then passed it to Roslovic, who fired a one-timer past Flyers goalie Dan Vladar.
The Oilers (8-6-4) are starting a seven-game road trip and have won two straight after losing their previous three games. The Flyers (8-5-3) have now lost four straight home games.
Edmonton opened the scoring with just under a minute left in the first period when Connor McDavid grabbed a loose puck and found Evan Bouchard in the high slot, who then fired a one-timer past Vladar. The assist gave McDavid a six-game point streak. Bouchard's goal was his third of the season.
The Flyers struggled to generate offense in the second period, going over 15 minutes without a shot on goal. Matvei Michkov finally tied the game with 4:22 remaining in the second period, scoring his third goal in as many games. Michkov found space above the left circle and snapped a wrist shot past Stuart Skinner. Travis Konecny assisted on the goal, extending his point streak to eight games.
Skinner made key saves on Tyson Foerster and Trevor Zegras midway through the third period to keep the game tied. Shortly after, Skinner stopped Noah Cates' attempt to tuck the puck inside the post. Vladar made a shoulder save on McDavid with about 1 1/2 minutes left in regulation.
With 23.5 seconds left in regulation, Konecny appeared to score the go-ahead goal, but it was overturned after a replay showed that Sean Couturier was offside.
Vladar finished the game with 30 saves. Skinner made 20 saves for the Oilers.
The Oilers will visit the Columbus Blue Jackets on Thursday, while the Flyers visit the St. Louis Blues on Friday.
