Misiorowski's Dominant No-Hitter Debut: A 6-0 Shutout Victory Against the Cardinals

Jacob Misiorowski's MLB debut on Thursday, June 12, 2025, was nothing short of electrifying, as he took a no-hitter into the sixth inning against the St. Louis Cardinals. The highly touted Milwaukee Brewers prospect showcased the blazing fastball that has made him one of baseball's most talked-about young arms. The Brewers ultimately defeated the Cardinals 6-0.

Misiorowski's first pitch was a 100.5 mph fastball, signaling the start of a dominant performance. He consistently reached high velocities, hitting 102.2 mph at one point, the second-fastest pitch by a starting pitcher this year, only behind Tarik Skubal. By the time his outing was over, Misiorowski had thrown 14 pitches that clocked in at over 100 mph.

Through five innings, the Cardinals hitters were simply overmatched. Misiorowski struck out five and walked four, keeping the Cardinals off the basepaths and off the scoreboard. The Brewers' faithful at American Family Field were on their feet with every pitch, sensing they were witnessing something special.

Unfortunately, Misiorowski's debut was cut short due to an apparent injury. After throwing three straight balls to lead off the sixth inning, Misiorowski seemed to slip on the mound and land awkwardly. Although he initially appeared to have rolled his ankle, the Brewers later announced that he was removed from the game with right calf and quad cramping. Despite the unfortunate ending, Misiorowski left the field to a standing ovation, a testament to the impression he made in a short amount of time.

The Brewers' offense provided Misiorowski with a comfortable lead. The game remained a tight 1-0 affair until the fifth inning when the Brewers exploded for five runs against Cardinals' starter Sonny Gray. Sal Frelick delivered a two-run single, and Jackson Chourio followed with a two-run home run, effectively ending Gray's outing.

Following Misiorowski's departure, Nick Mears relieved him but walked Victor Scott II. Aaron Ashby then took over, pitching the final three innings and earning his first save since 2022, while allowing the Cardinals' first hit of the game in the seventh inning when Willson Contreras singled.

Misiorowski's debut places him in rare company. He is only the third pitcher since 1900 to throw five or more no-hit innings in his first Major League appearance. While he didn't match Ross Stripling's 7 ⅓ innings of no-hit ball in his debut, or Freddy Peralta's 5 ⅓ innings for the Brewers, Misiorowski's dominant performance has cemented his place as a key part of the Brewers' future.

The Brewers' victory over the Cardinals was a crucial one, especially considering the tight race in the NL Central.
