Liverpool will commence their Premier League title defense in the 2025-26 season with a home fixture against Bournemouth. The match is scheduled for Friday, August 15th, with an 8 pm kickoff, and will be broadcast live on Sky Sports. After securing the title in Arne Slot’s debut season, finishing 10 points ahead of Arsenal, the Reds are aiming for continued success.

Following the Bournemouth opener, Liverpool faces a challenging start to the season. Their first away game is against Newcastle United on August 23rd, a repeat of last season's Carabao Cup final. The schedule doesn't get easier, as they host Arsenal at Anfield on August 30th. These early matches will provide a stern test of Liverpool's title credentials and offer a glimpse into how well the team has adapted and strengthened during the summer.

Key dates in the season include the Merseyside derby against Everton, with the first match at Anfield on September 20th and the return fixture at the Hill Dickinson Stadium on April 18th. The clashes with Manchester City, always a highlight, are set for November 8th away and February 7th at home. Matches against Manchester United are scheduled for October 18th at Anfield and May 2nd, 2026, at Old Trafford.

The Christmas period will see Liverpool at Anfield against Wolves on December 27th, followed by a home game against Leeds United to close out the year on December 30th. The season will conclude at home against Brentford on May 24th.

While the core of Liverpool's title-winning squad remains, there have been some notable changes. Virgil van Dijk and Mohamed Salah have committed their futures to the club, securing their presence for the upcoming campaign. However, Trent Alexander-Arnold has departed for Real Madrid after two decades with the club. Additions to the squad include Florian Wirtz, Jeremie Frimpong and Milos Kerkez.
