The Chicago Blackhawks have made some moves this offseason, including acquiring forward Sam Lafferty from the Buffalo Sabres for the third time and forward Andre Burakovsky from the Seattle Kraken. They also signed forward Dominic Toninato to a two-year, two-way contract. However, after a relatively quiet start to free agency, here are three remaining free agents the Blackhawks should consider to bolster their roster:

1. Jeff Skinner (Forward)

Jeff Skinner, 33, is a player who could provide some offensive punch. Skinner's 2024-25 season began with hope after signing a one-year deal with the Edmonton Oilers, aiming to rebound following a buyout from the Buffalo Sabres. However, his time in Edmonton quickly turned sour, as he scored only four goals in his initial 25 games and frequently played limited minutes. Ultimately, he was a healthy scratch for most of the Stanley Cup Playoffs until injuries forced him back into the lineup. He concluded the season with 16 goals and 29 points, demonstrating flashes of decent production despite limited opportunities. While his stint with the Oilers didn't pan out, Skinner has a history of being a productive scorer. In 2022-23 with the Sabres, he tallied 35 goals and 82 points, showcasing his offensive capabilities when given the chance. Skinner could be a worthwhile gamble for the Blackhawks. If he rediscovers his scoring touch, he could be a valuable asset.

2. Pius Suter (Forward)

Pius Suter, 30, is a versatile forward who can play in multiple roles. Suter is a reliable two-way player who can contribute offensively while also being responsible defensively. Although he may not be a flashy, high-scoring forward, he is a consistent player who can be counted on to make smart plays and support his teammates. Suter's versatility would allow him to fit in various line combinations and adapt to different game situations, making him a valuable asset for a rebuilding team like the Blackhawks.

3. Colin Miller (Defenseman)

Colin Miller, 32, is a right-handed defenseman known for his skating and puck-moving abilities. Miller can provide some offensive support from the blue line while also being defensively sound. He is a solid skater who can join the rush and create scoring chances, and he also possesses a good shot from the point. The Blackhawks' defense is currently young, so adding a veteran presence like Miller could provide stability and leadership.

With a mix of potential offensive upside, versatility, and veteran leadership, these three free agents could be valuable additions to the Blackhawks as they continue their rebuild.
