Portugal's Women's Euro 2025 campaign faces a critical juncture as they prepare to face Belgium. The match, part of Group B, takes place on Friday, July 11, at the Stade de Tourbillon in Sion. For audiences in the United States, the game will be broadcast on FS1, with streaming available on the FOX Sports App and FOXSports.com.

Portugal's aspirations of advancing to their first-ever major tournament knockout phase hinge on this match. Currently trailing Italy by three points, Portugal needs to win against Belgium while also hoping for an Italian loss to Spain. If Portugal and Italy end up tied, a complex tie-breaking procedure will be activated, considering goal difference, goals scored, disciplinary points, and overall European Qualifiers ranking.

However, Portugal faces a stern test against Belgium. In their recent encounters, Belgium has had the upper hand, including a 3-0 victory in the Women's Nations League on June 3, 2025. Across eight matches, Belgium has won five times, while Portugal has only managed two victories with one draw. To complicate matters further for Portugal, they not only need to win but also have to overcome a significant goal deficit.

Portugal will be without Ana Borges due to suspension after she received a late red card against Italy. The predicted lineup for Portugal is Patricia Morais in goal; Carole Costa, Diana Gomes, Joana Marchão and Lucia Alves in defense; Fátima Pinto, Tatiana Pinto, Kika Nazareth and Andreia Norton in midfield; and Ana Capeta and Diana Silva leading the attack. According to Portugal reporter, Inês De Oliveira Martins, Portugal's recent training sessions have focused on their attacking play. Tatiana Pinto stated that they will not lack shots on Friday.

Belgium, on the other hand, has already been eliminated from contention for the quarter-finals after losing to Italy and suffering a 6-2 defeat against Spain. Despite their elimination, Belgium will be motivated to end their tournament on a positive note. Alyssa Saliou, Belgium reporter, noted that the team displayed resilience and fighting spirit against Spain, underscoring the ongoing development of women's football in Belgium. She added that while the journey ending in the group stage is painful it fuels the hunger to keep growing, and there will still be plenty of pride to play for against Portugal.

Elisabet Gunnarsdottir may make some changes to the Belgium lineup. The predicted lineup for Belgium is Lichtfus in goal; Janssens, Tysiak, Kees, Cayman, and Deloose in defense; Missipo, Vanhaevermaet, and Detruyer in midfield; and Wullaert and Eurlings in attack.

Bookmakers currently favor Portugal to win the match. However, a draw could also be a possible outcome. Tessa Wullaert, the Belgian captain, is a player to watch, having scored 93 goals in 146 caps for her country. She scored twice against Portugal last month and provided both assists against Spain.
