José Mourinho is reportedly displeased with Jhon Duran's absence from Fenerbahce's pre-season training camp in Portugal. The Colombian striker, who recently joined the Turkish club on a season-long loan from Al-Nassr, has already stirred controversy before even playing a competitive match.

Mourinho did not hold back his feelings, labeling Duran's absence as "disrespectful". He emphasized that there are clear rules within the team, and those who fail to adhere to them will face the consequences. Mourinho added, "We'll talk to him when he shows up, if he does".

Duran's move to Fenerbahce comes just six months after he joined Al-Nassr from Aston Villa in a deal worth £71 million. The 21-year-old's talent has never been in question, but concerns about his temperament and attitude have surfaced. In December 2024, while still at Aston Villa, Duran was fined £15,000 and handed a three-match ban for improper conduct towards a referee.

Fenerbahce is looking to revamp its squad under Mourinho after finishing second in the Turkish Super Lig last season. The club has already made several additions, including Birmingham-born defender Archie Brown and the permanent acquisition of Sofyan Amrabat. The arrival of Duran was intended to further bolster their attacking options.

The circumstances surrounding Duran's move to Al-Nassr earlier this year were also noteworthy. Reports suggested that tensions between Cristiano Ronaldo and the Saudi club may have played a role in Al-Nassr's willingness to let Duran go. Fenerbahce reportedly consulted with Mourinho, who approved the transfer pursuit. The initial offer was a loan deal without a transfer fee, with Fenerbahce covering a portion of Duran's annual salary.

Duran's absence has understandably frustrated Mourinho, who is known for his strict discipline and high expectations. It remains to be seen what actions Mourinho will take and how this situation will impact Duran's future with Fenerbahce. Fenerbahce fans are closely watching how Duran will fit into Mourinho's plans, and the club's investment signals a clear intention to make Duran a central figure in the team.
