Newcastle United manager Eddie Howe has acknowledged the "complex" situation surrounding striker Alexander Isak, admitting it is "far from ideal" amidst transfer speculation. Howe confirmed that the club had rejected a bid from Liverpool for Isak.

Speaking from Newcastle's pre-season tour in Asia, Howe stated he doesn't know what will happen with Isak. Howe said he was made aware of the bid from Liverpool, and that it was rejected before he even heard about it. Howe insists that there is a pathway back to St. James' Park for Isak. Howe reiterated his support for Isak and his desire to see him in a Newcastle shirt again.

Howe's comments come after reports emerged of Liverpool's interest in the Swedish striker. Despite the offer from Liverpool being rejected, the situation remains uncertain with a month still left in the transfer window. Howe remains unsure of what could happen.

Howe also addressed reports of Newcastle's interest in Benjamin Sesko. Howe wouldn't confirm if there had been a bid for Sesko. He stated that Newcastle are trying to sign the best players and that they are still very competitive in the transfer market.

Newcastle are preparing to face Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday night.
