Sinner Dominates Cincinnati, Defending Title Run Continues with Impressive Semi-Finals Berth

Jannik Sinner, the defending champion, has stormed into the semi-finals of the Cincinnati Open 2025 with a dominant victory over Felix Auger-Aliassime. The world number one and Wimbledon champion showcased his prowess on hard courts, extending his winning streak to 25 matches with a decisive 6-0, 6-2 win.

Sinner's commanding performance left Auger-Aliassime with few opportunities to mount a challenge. Sinner has won his past 11 matches. Auger-Aliassime had won both of their previous encounters in 2022, but Sinner has risen in the rankings since then. The Italian began and ended the match with six-game runs, demonstrating his dominance on the court. Sinner's victory marked his first win against Auger-Aliassime, reversing their previous Lexus ATP Head2Head record.

The match lasted only 71 minutes, with Sinner claiming his quickest win of 2025. Auger-Aliassime struggled with unforced errors, committing 28 compared to Sinner's 12, and had eight double faults. Sinner, on the other hand, served well and capitalized on his opportunities. Sinner felt great on the court.

In the semi-finals, Sinner will face the winner of the match between Holger Rune and qualifier Terence Atmane. Sinner enters the match as the favorite. Sinner has yet to drop a set in Cincinnati.

Sinner's impressive run at the Cincinnati Open marks his first tournament since his Wimbledon triumph. His performance underscores his position as the world number one and a top contender for the US Open.
