The Boston Bruins have added a tenacious and versatile forward to their ranks in Michael Eyssimont, who signed a two-year, $2.9 million contract with the team on July 1, 2025. The deal carries an average annual value of $1.45 million. Eyssimont, 28, is expected to bring depth and energy to the Bruins' bottom-six forward group.

Eyssimont's journey to Boston has been marked by movement and adaptability. The Bruins will be his fifth NHL team in as many seasons. After being drafted by the Los Angeles Kings in the fifth round (142nd overall) of the 2016 NHL Entry Draft, the Littleton, Colorado native made his NHL debut with the Winnipeg Jets in 2021-22. Since then, he has also played for the San Jose Sharks, Tampa Bay Lightning, and Seattle Kraken.

Last season, 2024-25, Eyssimont split time between the Lightning and the Kraken, appearing in 77 games and recording nine goals and seven assists for 16 points. He was traded to Seattle as part of a three-team deal that sent Oliver Bjorkstrand and Yanni Gourde to Tampa Bay.

Eyssimont is known for his tenacious forechecking, high-volume shooting, and willingness to play a physical game. Despite averaging just 11:30 of ice time per game over the past four seasons, he has averaged 160.5 shots on goal per 82 games. He also tallied 110 hits in 77 games last season. While not expected to be a top-six forward, Eyssimont has the potential to provide some secondary scoring and contribute on the penalty kill. His career-high came in 2023-24 with the Lightning when he scored 25 points in 81 games.

Bruins General Manager Don Sweeney has prioritized adding depth to the forward group this offseason, also signing Sean Kuraly and Tanner Jeannot, and re-signing Johnny Beecher. Eyssimont's versatility and work ethic should make him a valuable asset as the Bruins navigate their first rebuild in the last 25 years.

Internationally, Eyssimont has represented the United States at three IIHF World Championships (2023, 2024, 2025), winning gold at the 2025 tournament.
