Yoane Wissa, the Brentford forward, has publicly stated his desire to leave the club, expressing his frustration with the club's alleged broken promises regarding a potential transfer. With the summer transfer window drawing to a close on Monday, the Congolese international has taken to social media to voice his discontent and push for a move.

Wissa, who has been linked with a move to Newcastle United, claims that Brentford is hindering his departure despite previous agreements. He asserts that he had open discussions with the club's management, including key directors and the new head coach, where he expressed his intention to explore new opportunities. According to Wissa, he was assured that the club would not stand in his way if a reasonable offer was received, a commitment he says was also put in writing.

However, as the transfer window nears its end, Wissa alleges that Brentford has "significantly changed its position," contradicting previous communications. This shift, he says, has left him in a "difficult and frustrating position," as the promise of a summer exit has not been fulfilled.

In his statement, Wissa emphasizes his respect for Brentford and its fans, but insists that he must prioritize his career and family. He urges the club to honor their commitment and allow him to join a new club at a fair price. Wissa suggests that forcing him to stay beyond this summer would only tarnish his positive four-year tenure at the club and pleads with Brentford's owners and directors to honor their promise in the final hours of the window.

Newcastle United reportedly had an offer of £35 million plus add-ons rejected earlier in August for Wissa, who scored 19 Premier League goals last season. He has yet to feature for Brentford in the current campaign. Wissa's absence from the team, coupled with his recent social media activity where he removed references to Brentford from his Instagram account in mid-August, further fueled speculation about his potential departure.

It remains to be seen whether Wissa's public statement will be enough to sway Brentford's stance. With limited time remaining in the transfer window, the coming hours will be crucial in determining whether he secures his desired move or remains with the Bees.
