Liverpool are set to have a busy deadline day, with a flurry of activity expected both in and out of the club. The Reds have reportedly agreed a deal for Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi and are also finalizing a British-record transfer for Newcastle striker Alexander Isak. To balance the books, academy graduate Harvey Elliott is on the verge of joining Aston Villa.

The agreement for Guehi is reported to be in the region of £35 million, with a 10% sell-on clause. The 25-year-old defender is currently undergoing a medical in London, with the final details being ironed out before the 7 PM deadline. Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner had initially been reluctant to let his captain leave, but with Guehi entering the final year of his contract, the club felt compelled to accept Liverpool's offer. Glasner had previously stated that Guehi would only be sold if a replacement was secured. To that end, Palace are reportedly considering moves for Chelsea defender Malang Sarr and Brighton's Igor Julio. The signing of either player would pave the way for Guehi's move to Anfield.

Liverpool's pursuit of Alexander Isak has been a long and drawn-out saga, but it appears to be nearing a successful conclusion. The Reds have reportedly agreed a British-record £125 million fee with Newcastle for the Swedish striker. Isak is also undergoing a medical and is expected to sign a six-year contract with the club. Isak's desire to join Liverpool had been clear for some time, with the player even refusing to train with Newcastle in order to force the move. Newcastle have already moved to replace Isak, signing Nick Woltemade from Stuttgart and are closing in on Yoane Wissa from Brentford.

With the potential arrivals of Guehi and Isak, Liverpool are also expected to sanction the departure of Harvey Elliott. The young midfielder is reportedly close to joining Aston Villa on loan, with an obligation to make the deal permanent next summer. The fee is reported to be £35 million. Joe Gomez has also been linked with a move away from Anfield, with AC Milan reportedly interested. However, Liverpool are keen to keep hold of the versatile defender.

The potential outlay of over £160 million on Guehi and Isak would cap off a busy summer for Liverpool, who have already signed seven players. The club has also recouped a significant amount in player sales, generating over £210 million. With the deadline fast approaching, Liverpool will be hoping to complete all their business and strengthen their squad for the season ahead.
