Belgium cruised to a dominant 6-0 victory over Kazakhstan in their World Cup qualifier, with Kevin De Bruyne and Jeremy Doku each bagging a brace. De Bruyne underlined his importance to the team by opening the scoring with a stunning strike and dictating play, while Doku's pace and trickery caused the Kazakh defense endless problems, resulting in two goals and an assist.
The match started with Kazakhstan showing defensive resilience, and their goalkeeper, Mukhamedjan Seysen, made several crucial saves. However, Belgium's persistence paid off in the 42nd minute when a series of clever touches set up De Bruyne for a powerful shot into the top corner. Leandro Trossard's overhead flick kept the ball in play, and Charles De Ketelaere's backheel found De Bruyne, who unleashed an unstoppable effort for his 33rd international goal.
Almost immediately after, Belgium doubled their lead as Doku hammered home a shot from the left, sending the Red Devils into halftime with a comfortable 2-0 advantage.
Belgium continued their onslaught in the second half, with Nicolas Raskin adding a third goal in the 51st minute. Doku, after receiving a cross from Youri Tielemans, cleverly played the ball back across the goal for Raskin to score his first international goal. Doku then grabbed his second goal on the hour mark, using his acceleration to beat the defense before finishing with a left-footed shot.
De Bruyne also secured his second goal of the night in the 84th minute, firing a low shot inside the left post. Thomas Meunier completed the scoring in the 87th minute, sealing a comprehensive 6-0 victory for Belgium.
With this win, Belgium has extended their unbeaten home run in FIFA World Cup qualifying matches to 17 games. They now have 10 points from four games in Group J, level on points with Wales but trailing North Macedonia by one point. North Macedonia and Wales, however, have played five matches each. The group winner will automatically qualify for the World Cup, while the runner-up will proceed to a playoff. Kazakhstan, after this defeat, has lost four of their five group matches.
