The highly anticipated wedding of Indian cricketer Rinku Singh and Samajwadi Party MP Priya Saroj, initially set for November 18, 2025, has been postponed. According to reports, the postponement is due to Rinku Singh's busy cricket schedule, with the wedding now expected to take place in February 2026, though the exact date remains unconfirmed.

Sources close to the families revealed that while preparations were underway for the November wedding at the Taj Hotel in Varanasi, Rinku's cricket commitments made it difficult to proceed as planned. Rinku's schedule includes domestic cricket for his state team from October to February, followed swiftly by the start of the Indian Premier League (IPL).

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI)'s calendar shows India touring Australia for a series of matches from October 19 to November 8, immediately followed by a home series against South Africa, including Test matches from November 14–18 and November 22–26, and ODIs starting November 30. This packed schedule made it impossible for Rinku to dedicate the necessary time to his wedding.

The couple's engagement ceremony took place on June 8 at a hotel in Lucknow, with prominent figures from politics and cricket in attendance, including Akhilesh Yadav, Jaya Bachchan, and Rajeev Shukla. The families reportedly had "meaningful discussions" about the marriage, reaching a mutual understanding. Priya was introduced to Rinku through a mutual friend whose father is also a cricketer, and they have known each other for over a year.

Priya Saroj is a first-time MP from Machhlishahr, with a background in law, holding degrees from Delhi University and Amity University in Noida. She was elected to the Lok Sabha in 2024. Rinku Singh rose to prominence during the 2023 IPL, particularly after hitting five consecutive sixes in a match against the Gujarat Titans. He has since represented India in several ODIs and T20Is.
