Real Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois has praised the "quality" of teammate Trent Alexander-Arnold following their 1-0 victory over Juventus in the FIFA Club World Cup. The Spanish giants clashed with Juventus in the round of 16 fixture, their first meeting in seven years. The match took place at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami.

Real Madrid, under the guidance of their new manager Xabi Alonso, entered the match with an unbeaten record. Juventus, however, were coming off a 5-2 defeat to Manchester City. The first half saw both teams trading blows, with opportunities for both Kenan Yıldız and Vinícius Júnior. Jude Bellingham also had a chance to put Real Madrid ahead, but his effort was saved. Courtois was called into action, making saves that kept Real Madrid in the game during Juventus's strong opening.

Real Madrid increased their pressure in the second half, ultimately leading to thegame's only goal. In the 54th minute, Trent Alexander-Arnold delivered a precise cross that was headed home by Gonzalo García, a 21-year-old from Real Madrid Castilla. This was Alexander-Arnold's first assist for Real Madrid.

Courtois's praise highlights the impact Alexander-Arnold has had since joining Real Madrid. Alexander-Arnold's attacking prowess was evident throughout the match, and his contribution proved to be the difference. While he was more focused on attacking, he was supported by the center-backs in defense.

Juventus had opportunities in the first half, with Randal Kolo Muani missing a chance early on. Kenan Yildiz also tested the Madrid defense. After conceding, Juventus looked to respond, with Francisco Conceicao drawing a save from Courtois. Ultimately, they were unable to find an equaliser.

With the victory, Real Madrid advanced to the Club World Cup quarter-finals, where they will face either Borussia Dortmund or Monterrey. Juventus, despite the loss, exited the competition with their "heads held high".
