Hurricanes' Jarvis and Gostisbehere Lead the Charge with 3 Points Each in Dominating 4-1 Victory Over Ducks

The Carolina Hurricanes defeated the Anaheim Ducks by a score of 4-1 on Thursday night, continuing their unbeaten start to the season. Seth Jarvis and Shayne Gostisbehere each had a three-point night to lead the Hurricanes.

Jarvis scored two goals and added an assist, reaching his 100th and 101st NHL goals. Gostisbehere contributed with three assists, matching his career-high. Alexander Nikishin also scored his first NHL goal in the victory. Sebastian Aho had a goal and an assist for the Hurricanes.

Frederik Andersen, in his third start of the season, made 23 saves against his former team. Andersen has won his first two outings. The Hurricanes are currently on a six-game road trip.

The Hurricanes started strong, dominating play early in the game. Jarvis opened the scoring at 14:54 of the first period with his 100th career goal, assisted by Gostisbehere. Jarvis scored on a rebound after Gostisbehere intercepted a pass. Carolina led 1-0 at the end of the first period, outshooting Anaheim 10-8.

In the second period, Jarvis scored a power-play goal to extend the lead. However, Leo Carlsson responded for the Ducks, scoring 70 seconds later. Nikishin scored early in the third period to further extend Carolina's lead. Aho scored his first goal of the season late in the third period.

Lukas Dostal stopped 27 shots for the Ducks. Eight Hurricanes players have registered a point in every game this season: Seth Jarvis, Sebastian Aho, Shayne Gostisbehere, Taylor Hall, Alexander Nikishin, Jackson Blake, Jordan Martinook, and Eric Robinson.

The Hurricanes are now 4-0-0 to start the season and have outscored their opponents 19-8. The Ducks fall to 2-1-0 under new coach Joel Quenneville. The Hurricanes continue their road trip, while the Ducks prepare for a five-game road swing.
