The Champions League witnessed another night of thrilling action, with familiar names finding the back of the net. England captain Harry Kane continued his impressive form, while Jude Bellingham shone once again for Real Madrid.
Harry Kane scored his 23rd goal in 15 games for club and country this season as Bayern Munich cruised to a 4-0 Champions League victory over Club Brugge. The England captain has now scored in eight successive games in club football for the first time in his career. Seventeen-year-old Lennart Karl became the youngest Bayern player to find the back of the net in the Champions League when he opened the scoring with a stylish long-range strike. Luis Diaz and substitute Nicolas Jackson wrapped up a comprehensive win. In the same vein, in a previous Champions League outing, Kane's penalty helped restore Bayern's lead against Manchester United in a 4-3 victory. Kane has seven goals and three assists in the Champions League this season, equalling his highest scoring season in the competition.
Jude Bellingham's electric start to life at Real Madrid continued as he scored his first goal of the season in a 1-0 win against Juventus at the Bernabeu Stadium. The win extended Real Madrid's 100 per cent start to their Champions League campaign. Bellingham's 57th-minute strike was enough to clinch victory for the 15-times winners. The precocious England international has now scored 11 goals in 12 games for his new club. In another match, Bellingham landed just where he wanted in Madrid and his 94th-minute goal in a 1-0 win over newcomer Union Berlin made it six goals for the former Borussia Dortmund star in six straight wins to start the Spanish giant's season. Bellingham has four goals and four assists in nine Champions League games this term and already has 12 goals and 11 assists in the Champions League, including his time at Dortmund.
Elsewhere, Hugo Ekitike scored on his return to Eintracht Frankfurt as Liverpool ended their four-match losing streak with a confident 5-1 victory in Germany. The France international struck after 35 minutes against his former club to cancel out Rasmus Kristensen's opener, and further goals from Virgil van Dijk and Ibrahima Konate restored order by the break. Cody Gakpo and Dominik Szoboszlai completed the rout.
Chelsea were similarly dominant as Brazilian teenager Estevao provided further evidence of his scintillating talent in a 5-1 demolition of Ajax at Stamford Bridge. The visitors were up against it from the 17th minute when captain Kenneth went off.
In other matches, England captain Harry Kane helped Bayern Munich strengthen their grip on Group A in the Champions League as he scored in a 3-1 win at Galatasaray. Kane scored his 11th goal in 13 games for the German side as he put them 2-1 up after Kingsley Coman's early opener was cancelled out by Mauro Icardi's penalty. Rodrygo put Madrid ahead in the first half before Bellingham doubled the lead on the hour, with Alvaro Djalo getting the Portuguese side back in it. A second-half goal by Brais Mendez gave Real Sociedad a 1-0 win at Benfica that moved them above Inter Milan in Group D on goal difference.
