Bengaluru, November 7, 2025 – Day 2 of the 2nd Unofficial Test between India A and South Africa A saw India bowled out for 255 after a resilient century from Dhruv Jurel. Mohammed Siraj and Kuldeep Yadav are now tasked with making breakthroughs with the ball to give India A the upper hand.
South Africa A won the toss and elected to field first at the BCCI Centre of Excellence Ground 1. India A's batting lineup faltered early, finding themselves in deep trouble at 126 for 7. However, Dhruv Jurel, displaying remarkable technical skill, counter-attacked and scored a fighting century. Jurel's innings, characterized by compact technique rather than expansive strokeplay, allowed him to navigate the challenging conditions and the relentless South African bowling attack.
Jurel found a valuable partner in Kuldeep Yadav, and together they forged a doughty 79-run partnership for the eighth wicket, rescuing the India A innings. Jurel remained unbeaten on 132, having faced 175 balls and striking 12 fours and 4 sixes. Kuldeep Yadav contributed a valuable 20 off 87 balls. The South Africa A pacers, particularly Tshepo Moreki and Tiaan Van Vuuren, exploited the conditions, finding steady bounce off the pitch under the overcast sky. Van Vuuren was the pick of the bowlers, taking 4 wickets for 52 runs.
The weather forecast suggests possible rain interruptions on the first two days of the match, but clear skies are expected for the remaining days in Bengaluru.
Rishabh Pant, captaining India A and making a comeback from injury, is looking to build on the gains from the first match. In the previous match, Pant demonstrated his fitness by keeping wickets for 139.3 overs and scoring a sparkling 90. Mohammed Siraj and Kuldeep Yadav are using this match to gain crucial red-ball game time.
The match is being live-streamed on the JioHotstar app and website in India. Akshay Totre and Tanmay Srivastava are the umpires for the match, with Valmik Buch serving as the match referee.
