Dhaka, November 18, 2025 – The Indian national football team, the Blue Tigers, are set to face off against neighbors Bangladesh at the National Stadium in Dhaka today in an AFC Asian Cup 2027 Qualifiers match. The Blue Tigers are entering this match with a revamped squad under the guidance of coach Khalid Jamil, who took over from Manolo Marquez. Notably absent is Sunil Chhetri, India's all-time leading goal scorer. Jamil has emphasized the inclusion of youth, with several uncapped players, including goalkeepers Sahil and Hrithik Tiwari, potentially making their senior debuts.

Bangladesh, coached by Javier Cabrera, is also looking to end their campaign on a positive note. In their recent match, Bangladesh drew 2-2 with Nepal. Midfielder Hamza Choudhury, who scored twice in the draw against Nepal, is expected to play a key role.
India is currently ranked 136th in the FIFA men's team rankings, while Bangladesh is in 183rd position.
