Possession of nitrous oxide for recreational use is an offense in the UK, classified as a Class C drug since 2023. The recreational use of laughing gas has been a criminal offence in the UK since 2023 and is listed as a Class C drug. Penalties can include up to two years in prison. A Tottenham spokesperson told PA that they are looking into the events and it will be dealt with as an internal matter.
This is not the first time Bissouma has faced such allegations. In August 2024, he was caught consuming the substance, leading to a one-match suspension from Spurs. At the time, Bissouma apologized for a "severe lack of judgement" and acknowledged his responsibilities as a footballer and role model.
