Jenner's Two Goals Propel Charge to Victory: Frost Fall 5-2 in Decisive Match

The Ottawa Charge defeated the Minnesota Frost by a score of 5-2 on Saturday, January 3, 2026, propelled by a strong offensive performance led by Brianne Jenner, who netted two goals. The victory, witnessed by a sold-out crowd of 8,235 at TD Place, marks only the second regulation win for the Charge this season.

Jenner opened the scoring early in the first period with a goal at 4:01. The Frost responded just 38 seconds into the second period with a power-play goal from Kelly Pannek, tying the game 1-1. However, Ottawa quickly regained control, scoring three goals in just over six minutes later in the second period. Emily Clark scored her first goal of the season, Sarah Wozniewicz tallied another, and Katerina Mrazova added a power-play goal to extend Ottawa's lead. Britta Curl-Salemme brought the score to 4-2 late in the second period. Jenner sealed the victory with an empty-net goal with 2:44 remaining in the third.

Gwyneth Philips was solid in net for Ottawa, stopping 24 shots. Maddie Rooney made 17 saves for the Frost.

This win marks the fourth straight for Ottawa. With the victory, Ottawa has moved out of a last-place tie with Vancouver and is now two points away from a playoff spot.

The Charge will look to continue their winning streak as they host the Vancouver Goldeneyes on Friday. The Frost will try to rebound as they visit the Montreal Victoire on Sunday.
