NEW DELHI, October 25, 2025 – A thrilling display of equestrian skill and sporting prowess unfolded at the Jaipur Polo Ground today, as India edged out Argentina in a nail-biting finish to claim the International Polo Cup 2025. The final score of 10-9 reflected the fierce competition between the two world-class teams, with India ultimately triumphing in front of a captivated audience.

The KogniVera International Polo Cup 2025, marked the return of high-profile international polo to Delhi after a five-year hiatus. The event drew a distinguished gathering of over a thousand guests, including Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, Union Minister for Tourism, who attended as the chief guest. Also in attendance were Kiren Rijiju, Minister of Parliamentary Affairs and Minister of Minority Affairs, Naveen Jindal, Chairman of Jindal Steel and Power, celebrated poet Kumar Vishwas, Lt. Gen. V.M.B. Krishnan, Quarter Master General, Indian Army, and ambassadors and diplomats from various nations.

Team India, led by Sawai Padmanabh Singh of Jaipur, showcased exceptional teamwork and strategic brilliance throughout the match. The Indian team included Simran Shergill, Shamsheer Ali, Sawai Padmanabh Singh and Siddhant Sharma. Argentina's team comprised Juan Agustin Garcia Grossi, Salvador Jauretche, Matias Bautista Espasandin and Nicolas Jorge Corti Maderna.

The game was closely contested, with both teams demonstrating a high level of horsemanship and ball control. Siddhant Sharma (3 goals), Sawai Padmanabh Singh (3 goals) and Shamsheer Ali (3 goals) were the primary scorers for India, with an additional goal awarded on handicap. For Argentina, Salvador Jauretche scored 5 goals, Alejo Aramburu scored 2 goals and Juan Agustin Grossi scored 2 goals.
