The Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) have emerged victorious in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, securing their maiden title after defeating the Punjab Kings (PBKS) in a thrilling final held at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The Rajat Patidar-led RCB won by 6 runs, ending their 18-year wait for the coveted trophy, while the Shreyas Iyer-led PBKS finished as runners-up. Mumbai Indians (MI) finished third after losing to PBKS in Qualifier 2.

As champions, Royal Challengers Bengaluru will take home a substantial prize of ₹20 crore (approximately $2.4 million). Punjab Kings, as the runners-up, will receive ₹13 crore (approximately $1.5 million) for their efforts throughout the tournament. Mumbai Indians, who finished third, will be awarded ₹7 crore. Gujarat Titans, who were eliminated in the Eliminator stage, will receive ₹6.5 crore.

The IPL's prize money structure has remained consistent since 2022, reflecting the league's financial stability and market position. The significant increase in prize money over the years is evident when compared to the inaugural season in 2008 when the Rajasthan Royals received ₹4.8 crore as winners, and the Chennai Super Kings were awarded ₹2.4 crore as runners-up.

In addition to the team prize money, individual players are also recognized and rewarded for their outstanding performances throughout the season. Awards like the Orange Cap, given to the highest run-scorer, and the Purple Cap, awarded to the leading wicket-taker, each carry a prize of ₹10 lakh (approximately $12,000). Other individual awards, such as the Emerging Player of the Season, Most Valuable Player, Super Striker, Power Player, Maximum Sixes, and Game Changer, also come with cash prizes. The Emerging Player award offers the highest prize of ₹20 lakhs (about $24,000).

Here's a summary of the prize money distribution for IPL 2025:

  • Winner (Royal Challengers Bengaluru): ₹20 crore

  • Third Place (Mumbai Indians): ₹7 crore
  • Fourth Place (Gujarat Titans): ₹6.5 crore

Individual Awards:
