Neeraj Chopra, India's celebrated javelin thrower, is set to compete at the Paris Diamond League 2025, aiming to secure the top spot. The event, held at the Stade Sébastien Charléty in Paris, marks Chopra's return to the city where he won a silver medal at the Paris 2024 Olympics.

Chopra's journey to the Paris Diamond League includes a mix of successes and challenges this season. He began 2025 by winning the Potchefstroom Invitational Meet in South Africa with a throw of 84.52m in April. At the Doha Diamond League in May, he achieved a significant milestone by breaching the 90m mark with a throw of 90.23m, setting a new national record. However, he finished second to Germany's Julian Weber, who threw 91.06m. The competition between Chopra and Weber continued at the Janusz Kusocinski Memorial in Poland, where Weber again took the lead. Chopra managed a best throw of 84.14m in the wet conditions.

The Paris Diamond League 2025 features a competitive field including Julian Weber and Anderson Peters, the two-time world champion from Grenada. Other athletes include Keshorn Walcott, Julius Yego, Andrian Mardare, and Luiz Mauricio da Silva.

Neeraj Chopra's event at the Paris Diamond League 2025 is scheduled to start at 1:12 AM Indian Standard Time (IST) on Saturday. Live streaming will be available on the Wanda Diamond League YouTube channel.

Following the Paris Diamond League, Chopra is scheduled to participate in the Golden Spike meet in Ostrava on June 24, followed by the Neeraj Chopra Classic in Bengaluru on July 5. These events will serve as preparation for the World Athletics Championships in Tokyo later this year.

Neeraj Chopra's achievements include a gold medal at the 2020 Olympics, a silver medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics, a gold medal at the 2023 World Championships, and a Diamond League title in 2022.
