Harvinder Singh, the reigning Paralympics champion, propelled India to a second-place finish at the Beijing 2025 Asian Para Archery Championships with a stellar performance, securing two gold medals. India concluded the competition with a total of nine medals, comprising three gold, three silver, and three bronze, placing them behind China, who dominated the championships with ten gold medals.

Singh's outstanding performance was highlighted by a personal best and a new competition record of 663 points in the recurve men's qualifying round. He secured an individual gold medal in the recurve men's open category by defeating Hanreuchai Netsiri of Thailand 7-1 in the final. His scores in the sets were 28-24, 30-28, 26-26, and 30-28.

Adding to his accomplishments, Singh also won a gold medal in the recurve open mixed team event alongside Bhawna. Jyoti secured a bronze medal in the compound women's open category, triumphing over Indonesia's Teodora Audi Ayudia Ferelly with a score of 144-133. However, Rakesh Kumar was defeated by China's Zhang Yicheng in the compound men's open bronze medal match, with a score of 149-143.

Prior to his gold medal victories, Singh had expressed his long-term goal of winning a medal at the world championships. He had also won India's first-ever gold medal in archery at the Paris Paralympics last year, defeating Poland's Lukasz Ciszek in the men's individual recurve open final.

Notably, several other archers set new championship records in the qualification rounds. Ai Xinliang led the compound men's field with 703 points, while Zhang Tianxin and Jiang Linhuan set new bests in the W1 men's and women's categories with 667 and 612 points, respectively. Nur Syahidah Alim of Singapore, the defending Asian Champion, qualified top in the compound women's event with 683 points.
