The UEFA Women's Euro 2025 is heating up, with the quarter-finals underway in Switzerland. One of the most anticipated matches is France versus Germany, a clash between two of Europe's powerhouses. Meanwhile, England has also made it to the semi-finals after a dramatic penalty shootout victory against Sweden.

France vs. Germany: A Quarter-Final Showdown

France and Germany are set to face off in a highly anticipated quarter-final match. The game will take place on July 19 at St. Jakob-Park in Basel. France enters the match with a perfect record from Group D, having won all three of their matches. Germany, on the other hand, suffered a surprising defeat to Sweden in their final group stage match. When these two teams met in the 2022 semi-finals, Germany won. France is eager to avenge that defeat and continue their quest for their first Euro title.

France comes into this quarter-final full of confidence after a perfect group stage campaign, with three wins and eleven goals. Les Bleues have a formidable attacking force, led by Delphine Cascarino and Marie-Antoinette Katoto. Germany will be without Carlotta Wamser due to a red card. Germany will need to make adjustments to their defense, with Giulia Gwinn injured and Carlotta Wamser suspended.

England's Journey to the Semi-Finals

England, the defending champions, have reached the semi-finals in dramatic fashion. After a disappointing opening defeat to France, the Lionesses bounced back with a 4-0 thrashing of the Netherlands. They then secured their knockout place with a 6-1 victory over Wales. In the quarter-final against Sweden, England came from 2-0 down to tie the game, eventually winning on penalties.

England will face Italy in the semi-finals on July 22 in Geneva. Italy reached the semi-finals after defeating Norway. England is on the opposite side of the draw from Spain, meaning they can only face the tournament favorites in the final.

The Women's Euro 2025 promises more excitement as the competition progresses. With teams like France, Germany, and England still in contention, the race for the title is wide open.
