Ethan Gauthier (Right Wing)

He brings a strong work ethic and physicality to the game. While Gauthier has displayed flashes of offensive brilliance, he is often seen as a hardworking, bottom-six forward. At best, he projects as a complementary winger who can do the dirty work for more skilled players. Sam O'Reilly (Center)

Sam O'Reilly, 19, was acquired by the Lightning in a trade with the Edmonton Oilers. Edmonton selected O'Reilly with the No. 32 pick in the 2024 NHL Draft. He helped the London Knights win the Memorial Cup last season, contributing six points in five games. O'Reilly has a reputation as a two-way forward with playmaking skills and a physical edge. Lightning General Manager Julien BriseBois praised O'Reilly's substance and ability to contribute to winning games. O'Reilly could represent Canada at the 2026 IIHF World Junior Championship. Although a longer-term project, with a projected NHL arrival in 2027-28, O'Reilly's all-around game makes him an intriguing prospect for the Lightning.
