Ishan Kishan, Leading from the Front Ishan Kishan, the Jharkhand skipper, reminded selectors of his potential with a remarkable 173 against Tamil Nadu in their Group A match. Kishan's innings propelled Jharkhand to 419 after they were struggling at 157 for six on the first day. He struck 15 fours and six sixes during his 247-ball stay at the crease. He had formed a 214-run partnership with Sahil Raj for the seventh wicket. In response, Tamil Nadu had a disastrous start, losing half their side for just 18 runs, with Jatin Pandey taking three wickets on debut. At the end of the second day, Tamil Nadu were tottering at 18 for five.

Karnataka is holding firm at 205/4 in Rajkot against Saurashtra. Vidarbha is cruising at 194/3 in Bengaluru against Nagaland. Jharkhand is at 212/6 in Coimbatore against Tamil Nadu.

Round 1 action continues The first round of the Ranji Trophy 2025-26 season began on October 15, 2025, with 38 teams participating. The 32 elite teams are divided into four groups, while six teams are in the Plate group. The matches are scheduled to end on October 18.
