Goa, October 26, 2025 – FC Goa commenced their title defense in the AIFF Super Cup 2025-26 with a convincing 2-0 victory over Jamshedpur FC, while NorthEast United FC were held to a 2-2 draw by Inter Kashi in a day of Group B action.
FC Goa vs. Jamshedpur FC
In a rematch of last season's Super Cup final, FC Goa showcased their dominance once again at the PJN Stadium in Fatorda. The Gaurs defeated Jamshedpur FC 3-0 in the 2025 Super Cup final. Despite heavy rains and a waterlogged pitch, FC Goa's Javier Siverio opened the scoring just before halftime in the 45th minute. Dejan Dražić sealed the victory with another goal in the 66th minute, reaffirming FC Goa's superiority.
The weather conditions posed challenges for both teams, with the second-half kickoff delayed by 24 minutes due to the downpour. However, FC Goa adapted well, displaying composure and control throughout the match. Jamshedpur FC, despite seeking revenge for their previous loss, struggled to find their rhythm and couldn't capitalize on their opportunities.
FC Goa gradually found their rhythm, with Borja Herrera, Siverio, and Udanta creating several openings. Jamshedpur's best chance came midway through the first half when Eric Messi Bouli's shot was blocked by FC Goa's goalkeeper Hrithik Tiwari. Ultimately, FC Goa's clinical finishing and solid defense secured the win.
NorthEast United FC vs. Inter Kashi
In the first match of Group B, NorthEast United FC (NEUFC) and Inter Kashi played out a thrilling 2-2 draw at the GMC Stadium in Bambolim. The match was intense, with both teams displaying spirited performances despite the rainy conditions.
Inter Kashi took an early lead in the 5th minute through Harmanpreet Singh. However, NEUFC responded with Alaaeddine Ajaraie scoring in the 18th minute and Miguel Zabaco adding another in the 40th minute, giving the Durand Cup champions a 2-1 lead at halftime.
Inter Kashi, however, demonstrated resilience. Karthik Panicker scored in the 74th minute, leveling the score and securing a point for his team. Despite NEUFC's dominance in possession and numerous attempts, Inter Kashi's defense held firm.
The match was the first-ever encounter between the two sides. Despite Inter Kashi fielding an all-Indian lineup due to visa issues for their foreign players and head coach, they managed to hold their own against a strong NEUFC side.
Looking ahead, NorthEast United FC will aim to bounce back in their next match against Jamshedpur FC on October 29 at the same venue. FC Goa will face Inter Kashi on October 29.
