Snoop Dogg Champions Ange's Return: Rapper Wants Celtic to Reappoint Beloved Former Manager

Hip-hop icon Snoop Dogg has thrown his hat into the ring regarding the recent turmoil at Celtic FC, urging the club's board to consider re-hiring Ange Postecoglou and offering to invest in the team. Following Brendan Rodgers' abrupt resignation, the Glasgow giants find themselves in a period of instability, further fueled by fan protests against the board.

Snoop Dogg, a long-time Celtic supporter, has expressed his desire to help the club return to its former glory. In an interview, the rapper stated that he would keep the supporters happy if he were involved with the club. When asked about potentially taking on a role at Celtic Park, the "Drop It Like It's Hot" star said, "I don't know about coach, but as an investor, sure". He further emphasized his interest in investing, stating, "Investing in Celtic is something I have talked about in the past, and if the opportunity was right, I would be down for it". He believes Celtic is a huge club and fans want to see the best players playing in their stadium, adding that all the owners have to do is ask.

The rapper also voiced his support for bringing back Ange Postecoglou, who managed Celtic from 2021 to 2023. Postecoglou led the team to two Scottish Premiership titles and a domestic treble in his second season before departing to manage Tottenham Hotspur. However, Postecoglou was sacked by Tottenham in June 2025, despite winning the UEFA Europa League. He was then hired as Nottingham Forest's manager in early September 2025, but was replaced after only 39 days.

Snoop Dogg acknowledged the changes in the sport, saying, "I love sport, and in sport players leave, coaches leave, and you move on". He also gave respect to Martin O'Neill, who has returned as interim boss. However, he made it clear that he believes the fans would love to see Ange back.

Postecoglou's potential return to Celtic has been a topic of discussion since Rodgers' departure. Despite his recent dismissals, some believe he could bring much-needed stability and a positive brand of football back to Celtic. Former Celtic striker Chris Sutton called Postecoglou a "smart appointment" who was loved the first time around.

However, reports also suggest that Postecoglou may be considering taking a break from football after his recent managerial stints. There are also speculations about other clubs, such as Genoa in Serie A, being interested in hiring him.

Snoop Dogg has been a Celtic fan since 2005, when he received a club shirt. He has often spoken about his affinity for the club and its fans. He even expressed his desire to open a burger van outside Celtic Park, calling it a potential "Paradise" for food lovers. In addition to his interest in Celtic, Snoop Dogg became a co-owner and investor at Swansea City in July 2025, acquiring a minority stake. He has also expressed interest in investing in Celtic in a similar manner to Ryan Reynolds' involvement with Wrexham AFC.
