Hockey fans, get ready for a double dose of Tkachuk as brothers Matthew and Brady Tkachuk launch their new weekly podcast, "Wingmen". The announcement was made on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, and the first episode drops today, November 13, 2025. Produced by Wave Sports & Entertainment, the same company behind the popular NFL podcast "New Heights" featuring Travis and Jason Kelce, "Wingmen" promises "absolutely no filter" as the two NHL stars share their thoughts on hockey, sports, and life.

Matthew Tkachuk, a forward for the Florida Panthers, and Brady Tkachuk, the captain of the Ottawa Senators, aim to bring a fresh, unfiltered perspective to hockey media. According to The Hockey News, the podcast intends to inject personality and energy into the sport, offering a raw and personality-driven show led by two of hockey's most entertaining players. Brady Tkachuk, in a teaser video, described the show as "two brothers, one mic". The brothers plan to discuss all things hockey and sports, as well as other aspects of their lives. Eventually, they intend to invite guests onto the show.

The idea for the podcast came about before the playoffs, but was put on hold due to both brothers competing in the postseason. After Matthew Tkachuk and the Panthers won the Stanley Cup, the idea was revisited and quickly gained traction. Matthew Tkachuk mentioned on "The Pat McAfee Show" that the transition to a podcast was natural, as he and Brady already FaceTime each other frequently. He humorously added that now they are getting paid to do it once a week.

The Tkachuks recognize the lack of a consistent platform for NHL players to express themselves and aim to fill that void with "Wingmen". They hope to provide fans with direct access to the personalities behind the helmets, offering honest and truthful insights into their experiences in the game. Matthew Tkachuk expressed his excitement about growing the game and stated that the podcast is their way of leaving the game in a better place, echoing advice from their father.

Currently, both brothers are dealing with injuries. Matthew Tkachuk is recovering from off-season surgery to repair a torn adductor muscle and sports hernia and has not yet played this season. Brady Tkachuk is recovering from thumb surgery after sustaining an injury in October. Despite their injuries, they are making the most of their time by launching "Wingmen".

"Wingmen" joins a growing trend of player-led podcasts, aiming to connect with fans in a more personal and engaging way. The Tkachuk brothers' natural chemistry, humor, and competitive edge could bridge the gap between casual fans and diehards, potentially becoming a valuable marketing tool for the NHL. New episodes will be released every Wednesday throughout the NHL season.
