The 2025 MLS Cup Playoffs are here, and fans across the United States and Canada are gearing up for a thrilling post-season. Starting October 22 and culminating on December 6, eighteen teams will battle for the coveted MLS Cup. Here’s how you can catch all the action.
Dates to Remember
The playoffs officially kick off on October 22 with the Wild Card matches. The top seven teams from both the Eastern and Western Conferences have already secured their spots in Round One, while the eighth and ninth-placed teams will compete in a single-elimination Wild Card match.
The winners of the Wild Card games will then advance to the Round One Best-of-3 series, which begins on October 24. The Conference Semifinals, Conference Finals, and the MLS Cup will follow. The MLS Cup final is scheduled for December 6.
Qualified Teams
A total of 18 teams have qualified for the playoffs. These include teams that have automatically qualified, such as Charlotte FC, Chicago Fire FC, FC Cincinnati, Columbus Crew, Inter Miami CF, Nashville SC, New York City FC, Orlando City SC, and Philadelphia Union. Other teams include Austin FC, FC Dallas, Los Angeles FC, Minnesota United FC, Portland Timbers, Real Salt Lake, San Diego FC, Seattle Sounders FC, and Vancouver Whitecaps FC. Notably, both of last year's MLS Cup finalists, LA Galaxy and New York Red Bulls, failed to qualify for the 2025 playoffs. San Diego FC qualified for the playoffs for the first time in their inaugural MLS season.
How to Watch: TV Channels and Streaming
Every match of the 2025 MLS Cup Playoffs will be broadcast on MLS Season Pass via the Apple TV app. Select games will also be available on FOX Sports channels in the U.S., including FS1 and FOX Deportes. In Canada, some playoff matchups will air on TSN and RDS.
MLS Season Pass is accessible through the Apple TV app on various devices, including Apple devices, smart TVs, streaming devices, set-top boxes, and game consoles. It is also available on the web at tv.apple.com. For an immersive viewing experience, fans can access MLS Season Pass on Apple Vision Pro, which allows them to watch games alongside other apps in their physical space with spatial audio.
Accessibility on Apple TV
In a recent announcement, MLS has made the 2025 MLS Cup playoffs more accessible to viewers by making every game available to all Apple TV subscribers. This eliminates the need for an MLS Season Pass add-on, though an Apple TV subscription is still required.
Additional Coverage
To provide extensive coverage, MLS Countdown and MLS Wrap-Up in English, as well as MLS La Previa and El Resumen in Spanish, will feature special 30-minute pre- and post-game shows. These shows will offer in-depth analysis and highlights for the Wild Card matches and Round One Best-of-3 Series games.
