Ladislav Krejci's header secured a valuable point for Wolverhampton Wanderers against a struggling Manchester United side at Old Trafford on Tuesday. The 1-1 draw brought an end to Wolves' painful run of 11 consecutive Premier League defeats.

Manchester United took the lead in the 27th minute when Joshua Zirkzee's shot deflected off Krejci and into the net. Despite the fortunate deflection, the build-up to the goal was commendable, with Ayden Heaven winning the ball back and driving forward.

Wolves responded just before halftime, with Krejci redeeming himself by heading home an equalizer. Hugo Bueno delivered a cross that Zirkzee failed to clear, heading it towards the back post where Krejci powerfully headed it past United goalkeeper Senne Lammens.

The second half saw both teams create chances. Wolves' goalkeeper Jose Sa made a stunning save to deny Yerson Mosquera's own goal attempt. Lammens then saved from both Mosquera and Krejci in quick succession. In the 90th minute, Patrick Dorgu found the net for United, but his celebrations were cut short as the goal was ruled out for offside after a VAR check.

Wolves' point was well-deserved, showcasing a spirited performance against a lackluster Manchester United. The result prevents Wolves from equaling the record for the most Premier League defeats in a single calendar year. However, their points-per-game ratio in 2025 remains the worst for a team in a full Premier League year since Huddersfield Town in 2018. Wolves also became only the second team in top-flight history to go 19 matches from the start of a season without a win.

Manchester United's struggles continue, with their performance against the league's bottom side raising further questions. The Old Trafford crowd voiced their frustration, urging the team to attack with more intent. Manager Ruben Amorim's cautious approach has been criticized, with the team appearing hesitant against a struggling opponent.

The draw leaves Manchester United with much to ponder as they approach the new year, while Wolves can take heart from a resilient display that earned them a valuable point.
