The Philadelphia Flyers defeated the Vancouver Canucks by a score of 6-3 on Tuesday, extending the Canucks' home losing streak. Five Flyers players recorded two points each in the victory.
David Kampf opened the scoring for the Canucks at 3:44 of the first period, beating Flyers defender Jamie Drysdale to a pass from Drew O'Connor in front of the net. It was Kampf's second goal of the season. Noah Cates tied the game for the Flyers at 12:02 of the first, with his shot deflecting off a Vancouver defender and past goalie Thatcher Demko.
Carl Grundstrom gave the Flyers a 2-1 lead at 3:40 of the second period, beating Demko with a high shot. Travis Konecny increased the lead to 3-1 at 16:20, scoring on his own rebound. Konecny now has 12 goals this season. The Flyers outshot the Canucks 18-9 in the second period.
O'Connor scored early in the third period, just 68 seconds in, to pull the Canucks within one. However, Bobby Brink quickly restored the Flyers' two-goal lead, tapping in a pass from Matvei Michkov. Owen Tippett scored an empty-net goal at 17:19 to make it 5-2. Vancouver's Willander scored with 1:44 left to reduce the deficit to 5-3, but the Flyers responded with another empty-net goal, sealing the 6-3 victory.
Dan Vladar stopped 31 of 34 shots for the Flyers. Demko made 27 saves for the Canucks.
The Flyers were without Tyson Foerster and Filip Chytil due to injury. The Canucks were missing Derek Forbort, Guillaume Brisebois, and Teddy Blueger.
