Sarina Wiegman Dominates: Lionesses' Coach Secures Another Prestigious Women's Coach of the Year Award.

Sarina Wiegman has once again been crowned FIFA's Best Women's Coach of the Year, marking a record-extending fifth time she has received the prestigious honor. The England boss was recognized at The Best FIFA Football Awards for her outstanding leadership in guiding the Lionesses to retain their European Championship crown at Euro 2025.

The 56-year-old manager saw off competition from a strong field of candidates, including Chelsea's Sonia Bompastor, Arsenal's Renee Slegers, Seb Hines of Orlando Pride, and Lyon's Jonatan Giraldez. Wiegman's win further solidifies her place as one of the most accomplished and influential figures in women's football management. She had previously won the award in 2017, 2020, 2022 and 2023. Until last year, Wiegman was the only manager to receive the prize on more than one occasion. Her first two accolades came while managing the Netherlands, before she won the award for the first time as England head coach following the Lionesses' Euro 2022 triumph.

Wiegman was not present in Doha to accept the award in person, but she shared a pre-recorded video message expressing her gratitude. "Thank you so much, it is an absolute honour to receive this award again," she said. "I would like to thank FIFA and everyone who voted." She also congratulated her fellow nominees and thanked the FA for their continued support.

Wiegman emphasized that the award was a testament to the collective effort of the players and staff. "This award is for players and staff," she stated. "We have shown so much conviction, belief and togetherness which led us to our second Euros win." Looking ahead, Wiegman expressed her commitment to further advancing the women's game. "Moving into 2026, let's keep pushing the women's game forward together and create an environment for every player to reach their full potential," she affirmed.

Adding to the accolades for the England team, Hannah Hampton was named The Best FIFA Women's Goalkeeper. Hampton, who plays for Chelsea, was a key part of the Lionesses' success at the UEFA Women's Euro 2025. "Thank you very much to everyone who voted," said Hampton. "It is greatly appreciated and it really means a lot." She also thanked Sarina Wiegman and Sonia Bompastor for their belief in her.
